We no longer do vacation rentals but we still have lots of pictures and videos that we would like to share with the world. Our most recent hobby has been drone photography and we’ve taken videos all around the Big Island. Each of the videos is on its own page.
The Nene is Hawaii’s state bird and was nearly extinct for many years but has recently made a big comeback due to preservation efforts. I read once that there were only about 26 remaining in the mid-1950’s. We first moved to the Big Island in 2001 and did not see a Nene in the wild for the first fifteen years or so that we lived here. Now, they are common –especially on golf courses. We include the video below for sentimental reasons as it was on the front page of our vacation rental site. This video was taken in 2018 just across the street from the Kolea entrance in the Waikoloa Beach Resort.
